Lisa S. Hoffstein Senior Consultant, Investor Relations
Lisa has devoted her professional life to urban education and community development. She has spent much of her career designing and implementing programs that provide opportunity and support to under-resourced children. Following several years of classroom teaching. Hoffstein earned her MBA from The Wharton School and applied her passions to developing and managing programs for urban communities. For fourteen years she designed and implemented outreach models for The Milken Foundations, serving as the National Executive Director of the University Community Outreach Program. The Milken Young Entrepreneurs Program at Wharton recently celebrated its 25th reunion, bringing together past students, mentors and the benefactor in a historic gathering.
In 2006, Hoffstein founded The Katie At The Bat Team – A Nonprofit Helping Kids Hit Home Runs In Life. Katie At The Bat continues to introduce inner-city children throughout Philadelphia to the joys, disciplines and rewards of athletics. She authored Katie At The Bat integrating the book’s “believe in yourself” message throughout the community programs. Lisa was inducted in 2012 to the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame for her work in providing organized athletic and enrichment programs to children in the most underserved neighborhoods throughout the city.
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts, Masters in Education and MBA all from the University of Pennsylvania. In October 2014 Ms. Hoffstein received the Distinguished Alumnae Award at the annual Wharton Women In Business Conference. She was honored with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rolex Achievement Award in 1997 – awarded to a past participant in varsity collegiate tennis in recognition of outstanding career achievements and contributions to society. Lisa also received the University of Pennsylvania Krieger Lifetime Achievement Award.
Lisa is proud to be a founding board member of the lauded Friere Charter Schools, where she continues to serve and contribute. She enjoys competing in tennis locally, regionally and nationally in the senior circuits, having enjoyed being ranked #12 nationally in Women’s doubles and #19 in Husband and Wife categories. Her greatest pride is her three children.
Lisa is thrilled to join the circle of national senior consultants to the Campaign. As director of Institutional relations she will focus on national strategic partnerships as well as program and development innovations.
